Code of Good Practice

The Residential Boat Owners’ Association has developed a Code of Good Practice document. We encourage all members (and other interested waterway users), whether on water or on land, to consider others, and take responsibility for their actions. This Code will hopefully encourage boaters to share their knowledge and experience. We urge all users, including boaters, walkers, cyclists and anglers, to show mutual respect for our waterways and their surroundings.

We hope, whether or not you are an RBOA member, that as a user of our waterways you will want to support this RBOA Code of Good Practice, and that you will encourage others to do the same. The benefits from members registering their support is especially important, in the light of the RBOA leading the way in responsible dialogue with the different authorities. The result of the numbers supporting the code will give enhanced weight to our cause.

This initiative is supported by the Avon Navigation Trust, Canal & River Trust, Environment Agency, Association of Lea Cruising Clubs, Inland Waterways Association, Waterways Chaplaincy, and Waterways World.
